AM 스탭들은 일주일간의 단기 선교를 통해, 캐나다 최고의 대학 중 하나인 McGill University에서 복음을 전할 예정이며, 추후 몬트리올에 위치한 선교 훈련 센터와 협력하여 학생들을 정기적으로 교육하고 제자훈련을 받게하려고 한다.

AM 미국 지부는 올해 사우스캐롤라이나, 오하이오, 테네시, 메릴랜드 등 다양한 주로 성공적인 선교 여행을 다녀오기도 했다.

AM은 캐나다에서 복음을 나눌 수 있는 이 단기 선교가 그리스도의 사랑을 전하고, 많은 이들의 마음 가운데 복음의 씨앗이 심겨 질 수 있는 시간이 될 수 있도록 기도를 요청해왔다.

AM 국제 사무총장인 Alma 목사는 [마 7:7-11], [고전 9:26]을 본문으로 “우리가 항상 적극적으로 구하고, 찾고 두드리기를 원한다. 우리에게 후히 주시기를 원하시는 하나님께서는 우리가 부족한 모든 것을 구하기 원하신다. 하나님 안에는 한계가 없고, 하실 수 없는 일이 없다. 다만 우리의 불신 때문에 우리가 구하지 않고, 순종하지 않음으로 빈그물이 되는 경우가 많다. 우리가 한해를 시작하며, 우리의 불순종과 불신의 모습을 되돌아보고 회개하기 원하며, 정확한 방향성과 촛점을 가지고, 전략과 계획을 세워 간절히 구하며 승리하는 한해 되기를 원한다.”고 말씀을 전했다.

AM은 2022년 하나님께서 이끄시는 방향성을 따라 순종하며, 하나님의 크신 역사를 경험하는 한해 되기를 소망한다.

AM 국제본부의 알마 오소리오(Alma Osorio) 사무총장은 “이 본부 매입은 하나님의 큰 선물이며 AM이 정착하여 효율적으로 사역을 하는데 매우 중요한 역할을 할 것이다. 18년 넘게 AM 리더들과 멤버들이 열정적으로 복음을 전파하였고, 이제 역사의 새로운 시대가 열렸다. 이곳에서 성공적인 청년 사역을 수행하고, 예수 그리스도의 대사명을 성취해나가기를 소망한다.”라고 소감을 전했다.

본부의 위치는 아이비리그 학교 중 하나이자 미국에서 4번째로 오래된 고등 교육기관인 프린스턴 대학교(Princeton University)에서 약 20분 거리에 있다.

AM이 새로운 본부로 이전하면서 수많은 젊은이들과 청년들이 거주하고 있는 트렌튼, 프린스턴(Trenton-Princeton) 지역에 기독교 청년 사역의 부흥을 일으키고, 전세계에서 전도된 청년들을 담겨져 신앙훈련을 통해 예수그리스도의 장성한 분량이 충만한 데까지 자라나기를 소망한다.

이날 말씀을 전한 강의자는 요한복음 1장 19-34절의 본문으로  “예수님은 정죄의 삶이 아닌, 속죄의 삶을 사셨고, 그는 죄를 다른 이들에게 전가는 삶이 아닌, 세상의 죄를 지고 가는 삶을 사셨다.”며, 우리 모두가 예수님의 삶을 따라 사랑으로 복음을 성취하라고 권면했다.

말씀시간 후 한 참석자는 “말씀을 통해서 겸손케 되고, 어떻게 더 예수님을 닮아갈수 있을지를 생각해 보게되었다. 더 열심히 하나님을 따르길 원한다. 계속해서 더 많이 기도하고 하나님의 말씀을 읽고 싶다.”며 소감을 나눴고, 다른 참석자는 “이 말씀은 다른 사람들을 그들이 겪은 일들이나 그들의 행동을 보며, 쉽게 정죄하거나 판단하지 않도록 권면해준다. 심판과 정죄대신, 우리의 의무는 사랑을 전하는 것이다. 그리스도 안에서 영적으로 성장하여 하나님의 이름으로 사랑을 전파 하고싶다.”고 나눴다.

이 캠페인은 12월1일부터 25일까지 Instagram 소셜 미디어 페이지에서 진행되며, 성탄절의 깊은 의미를 소셜 미디어를 통해 공유하게 된다. 캠페인의 마지막 12일 동안에는 AM 스탭들과 멤버들이 성탄절이 각 사람에게 의미하는 바가 무엇인지 설명하는 짧은 간증을 녹음 할 것이다.

AM 국제본부는 이를 통해 “Instagram을 사용하는 청년들에게 예수 그리스도의 복음을 전하고, 성경공부에 참여하고자 하는 이들이 더 많이 연결될 수 있기를 소망한다”고 전했다.

To kick off the month of December and the Christmas Holiday, AM HQ staff thought of creative strategies that would both be fun and inviting for more members to join the fellowship. There were many ideas, but one that was decided upon was “25 Days of Christmas.”

25 Days of Christmas will be conducted on our Instagram social media page. It begins on Dec. 1st and ends on Dec. 25th. It is a social media campaign to share about the deep meaning of Christmas. The last 12 days will include short recorded testimonies from us and our current bible students explaining what Christmas means to us. In addition, the testimonies will be accompanied with bible scriptures.

The staff is excited to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with many of the followers on Instagram.
The hope is that by being active with our Instagram community, we will receive more students who are interested in learning about Jesus.

And as the year is coming to an end, we pray that many souls will be touched by the good news of the Gospel and that they will have a desire to follow the Lord.

The listeners learned that being called salt and light is a huge compliment from Jesus. Salt was something very precious in that time and hard to attain. It was a symbol of purity, a substance that preserved, and an item that adds flavor. This is the role and effect we should have as Christians in this world.

Likewise, light is something that should be seen. It draws others and serves as a guide and illuminates us, like the truth. Jesus calls Himself the light of the world. He is the big, overall light. However, he also calls us the lights of the world. So we are the small lights and we lead people to Christ and shine the truth in the midst of the darkness. To be people of the light means to be people of the truth.

The students received a lot of grace and shared actively about how God touched their hearts. The fellowship was truly joyful and many things were learned.

Africa followed the guidance given by AMI HQ on how to evangelize on social media and God has been faithful to them, rewarding with 3 new Bible students. The region set up an Instagram page to carry out evangelism and in a week has received 100 followers from the five nations (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, and Nigeria) reached.

One student, Emmanuel is very thirsty for the Word of God and has a passion to know more. While listening to the introduction of Romans he asked that, “how can epistle of Romans be a love letter?”. When he received an explanation that its God Himself wants to speak to us, to teach us. He became more eager to know more about what God wants to tell him about His great love of God. “Tell us more, I mean explain more”, he asked.

Emmanuel completed his high school level and is waiting to join college next year. He is a young soul that needs to be natured and it’s our prayer that God gives him the best so he may grow to lead others to Christ. Gerald expressed his desire to become a Bible teacher while explaining his Christian faith and Hope. Brendah is still new as she joined yesterday session.

Africa plans to extend their social media base to 20 countries so as to reach to many youths and gather more Bible students.

The leaders in AM Philippines shared the news of increasing online participants and photos of people who join the programs across the country.

“There are even more people in the Philippines who wonder what the Bible speaks about and how God wants to meet us in this crisis,” said Rachel Carrumba, a Bible Teacher in AM Cebu.

The group called, “Online Life Group”, created by AM Philippines, has been gaining more people with a faster speed than the usual time before Covid-19 breakout. Although some people had network issues, students consistently joined the bible study program held online live by the staff.

The program begins with two or three praises and prayer. This week, the teacher guided participants to open John Chapter 11 where Lazarus was brought back to life even after two days since he died. “I am the resurrection and the life” said Jesus looking at surrounding Jews, all fallen in despair of death.

The speaker expounded the meaning and power of life Jesus unveiled through raising Lazarus, who was already dead. Participants were reminded of the importance of faith and trust during the time that God seems to be silent, unresponsive of our desperate requests. The two day period when Lazarus was at the tomb is a time for all believers to set up their faith in God who raises the dead to life.

The teacher stressed that the times of sickness and suffering will face the end according to God’s will. The message encouraged everyone to form a deeper relationship with God during this time.

The gospel is not hindered in spreading even in situations locked down due to the virus. Prayer is that the Lord brings new revival in the country of the Philippines.

The last few weeks have forced many AM missionaries to pause their usual street evangelism and outreach. However, with optimal tools available online, the Gospel can be delivered in new ways.

The AM resource department has crafted a new guide with tips on all the ways AM members can spread a message of hope to the world. It is very important to strategize and provide platforms where many young people can learn about Jesus Christ.

The world is now in need of hope. The news of the COVID-19 outbreak has lead many to feel weak, vulnerable, and insecure. It is in that place that we must all look up to God. AM members will open up pages and groups on social media to teach Bible study and share anchor of hope we have in Jesus.

The social media groups will be divided into groups for new Bible students and then groups for existing AM members and listeners. The goal is to encourage many who are in darkness to find the light of truth from the Lord Jesus.

Please pray with AM to lead many people around the world to know the Gospel during this period.

It was a truly blessed time where AM International could be presented to hundreds of students passing by. They prepared many things including brochures, flyers for their September Retreat, connection cards, service information, candy, photos, and more.

Below is a testimony from AM North America representative, Michael:

The club fair at UIC was very exciting to my missionary heart. I realized that my conversation with these students was so valuable. This could literally be the last opportunity for a lot of them. So if they were willing, I wanted to share with them the best education they could get that day. Even before the table/booth was set up, I took the opportunity to speak up, and share grace, and I can only leave it to God now, hoping that my words bear fruit, or at bear minimum, were seeds planted for someone else to harvest later. We gathered 16 students and now, I want to prepare not only the Bible study message, but the upcoming retreat with a greater joy and zeal.

The best part of the fair was the “Spinning Bible Wheel.” The staff prepared a wheel with verses on them. The student could spin the wheel and it would land on the verse. The staff prepared many verses on a slip of paper. They would give the verse to the students and explain the message in the verse shortly. Afterwards, they hope the students could receive grace and keep the verse in their heart.

Many students were touched by the verses and opened their hearts more to God through it. There are many lost sheep at UIC. The Word of God is helping to soften their hearts and bring them back to the Lord Jesus. Please pray for a precious harvest of students this fall.
